Bikes

I've gone a little bike-crazy in the last two years, and I'm now the proud owner of 4 bikes. Some practical, some fast, some neither. One pictured here, the 2012 Charge Scourer, was given to Velocipede when I couldn't figure out how to get it to stop making a noise in the bottom bracket that nobody at the local bike shop could replicate.

A 1991 Trek 2300 Pro Composite is propped up by its left pedal on the curb of a street in a residential neighborhood. The bike is constructed of black carbon tubes forming the main triangle, connected to day-glo yellow aluminum lugs and rear stays that have a marble effect from little black lines spattered on the paint. The bike has a quill stem and original handlebars wrapped in black bar tape with aero-style brake levers. The brake calipers are Shimano 105. and the wheels are mismatched rim brake wheels with overly long valve stems and Vittoria Rubino Pro Control 25mm tires. The bike has downtube shifters which are indexed Shimano 105 7-speed. The drivetrain is composed of 1990s Shimano Dura-Ace components including a 7800 front derailleur, a 7402 rear derailleur, and 7400 170mm cranks and 52/42T chainrings. The pedals are flip-flop style platform/SPD, and there are two empty silver bottle cages in the main triangle. The seatpost is polished titanium, and holds a black Performance saddle.

It still has its original frame and Shimano 600 brake calipers, but the fork has been replaced with a black carbon-fiber version, the seatpost is a Thompson, the bars and stem are modern, and the drivetrain and shifters are Shimano R7000 105. The cable housings are orange, the bartape is black with an orange pattern at the end, the saddle bag is orange, as are the two bottle cages. The wheels are Giant SLR 0 55mm deep section with Vittoria Rubino Pro tires.
A 1995 GT Edge Ti is locked with a black and yellow Kryptonite lock and cable to a metal ladder attached to an industrial building. The bike is polished titanium with black components and orange trim items. The building is made of cinder blocks painted white with red graffiti.
